Location of Fare Haurevati

Fare Haurevati is located in ‘the heart’ of Moorea with stunning views of mountain peaks, making it really well located for sightseeing and active adventures.

The property itself is located in a very residential neighbourhood down a road that has a few unpaved patches. I personally loved it because it gave me a great feel for everyday Moorean life, but it was admittedly a little difficult to navigate there on a scooter.

Amenities at Fare Haurevati

Fare Haurevati is truly a home away from home. We had a full kitchen, swimming pool, small library, and lounging area. The wifi worked great, and we grabbed fresh avocados from the tree for breakfast each morning.

The greatest amenity, if you can even call it that, was Sara’s knowledge and hospitality. Upon arrival, she sat down with us for over an hour to help download local hiking apps and give us all the best tips. Without her, our trip truly would not have been the same.

She also uses her local connections to organise everything from traditional dance classes and hiking guide to in-room massages. If you’re traveling solo or don’t want to do too much research, I’d stay here just for the abundance of concierge services alone.

The Rooms at Fare Haurevati

Like many guesthouses around Moorea, the rooms seemed to all be simple but charming. We stayed in the Garden Suite, which was located at the back of the house and offered the most privacy of the three room choices.

Sustainability at Fare Haurevati

It is evident that sustainability is abundantly at the forefront of Sara’s approach to hospitality at Fare Haurevati. She places a strong emphasis on encouraging water conservation, recycling, and composting for every guests stay in a way that is easily integrated.

She also diligently works to connect visitors with genuine local experiences, ensuring that tourism dollars are used to support the indigenous local community rather than multinational organisations.

Overall

I loved my stay at Fare Haurevati, and would not hesitate to stay here again on my next visit to Moorea! I loved all of the personal touches and rough edges – it made it feel more like we were staying with an old friend. For remote workers and adventurous travelers looking to connect with the local community, this is definitely the best bet on the island.
